Fiji Group Accounts Receivable Manager

About The Role

  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improve cash collections across all business units.
  • Lead collection activities on overdue accounts, with a strong focus on aged and high-value debtors.
  • Manage customer credit assessments, approvals, credit limits, and payment terms.
  • Monitor and mitigate credit risk through regular customer reviews and proactive account management.
  • Drive disciplined collections governance, including credit hold procedures, recovery plans, and legal escalations where required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve invoice disputes and eliminate recurring process issues.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounts Receivable and Credit team, establishing clear performance expectations and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Prepare weekly ageing reports, DSO dashboards, cash collection forecasts, and executive performance reports.
  • Drive continuous process improvements, support ERP and finance transformation initiatives, and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, or Collections.
  • At least 5 years' leadership experience managing AR, Credit, or Collections teams.
  • Demonstrated success in significantly reducing DSO within a medium to large organization.
  • Proven experience managing aged debt portfolios exceeding FJD $10 million .
  • Strong stakeholder management and commercial negotiation skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

Preferred

  • Experience within the shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, transport, or distribution industries.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Experience leading shared services or centre-led collections functions.
