About The Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Chef to join our Facilities team on permanent basis, supporting our kitchen due to increased service demand. You’ll help prepare nutritious, home‑cooked meals for patients, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues contributing directly to the warm, supportive atmosphere our hospice is known for.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use their culinary skills to make a positive impact.

Salary:  Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 3 (aligned with AFC) £25,760 - £27,476 per annum + Enhancements

Contract:   Permanent, Full Time. 37.5 hours per week.

Shift pattern : Working hours between 7.30am - 6.00pm with shifts covering 7 days a week over a 6 week rota

What we are looking for:  

  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Cooking  (or equivalent City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2) –  essential requirement
  • Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare varied, high‑quality menus
  • A caring, adaptable approach and excellent customer service
  • Experience in catering environments; healthcare experience is welcome but not required
  • Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for kitchen operations during shifts
