Position Description
The Historic Preservation Program at Tulane University invites applications for an Adjunct Lecturer to teach conservation science and conservation technology courses. The instructor will teach 9–12 credits over the academic year, with courses focused on the material science, analysis, documentation, and hands-on treatment of historic building materials.
This position is intended for a practitioner-scholar with demonstrated expertise in architectural conservation, historic building materials, preservation treatments, and field- or lab-based instruction. The successful candidate will be able to teach students how to understand historic buildings as material systems, diagnose deterioration, communicate conservation needs, and apply preservation best practices through demonstrations, mock-ups, documentation, and specifications.
