Surgical Specialist - Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery

The Specialist Surgeon will be taking part in delivery of care to the patient both as in-patients and Out-patient basis. They will be part of oncall rota that involves providing front line care by covering the Emergency department and the inpatient services. They will perform Fracture reductions other emergency procedures in ED when required. As oncall doctors they will also assist in Emergency theatres for orthopaedic cases.

As for the Outpatient services, they will be expected to run the fracture clinics under supervision of Attending surgeon. There will also be opportunities to see patients in regular elective clinics under supervision.

They will be regular elective theatre sessions.

For the inpatient services, they will function within the Department of Surgery to assist in the care of the Orthopedic patients. Care is delivered as part of an interprofessional team. The Specialist is responsible for assessment of patients as well as carrying out the care plans.
