About The Role

Be part of building HCF's new Risk Assurance function, helping strengthen risk management across the organisation

As Manager, Risk Assurance, you'll play a key role in delivering HCF's Line 2 Risk Assurance program, providing independent assurance that key risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to join HCF's newly established Risk Assurance function and help shape a growing capability from the ground up. As the team continues to evolve, you'll contribute to the development of assurance frameworks, methodologies and practices that strengthen risk management, support regulatory obligations and build confidence across the business.

Leading assurance reviews across a broad range of enterprise risks, the role assesses control effectiveness, governance practices and compliance with regulatory requirements. Through practical, risk-based recommendations and trusted stakeholder partnerships, it helps drive stronger risk outcomes while providing independent challenge and valuable business insight.

About You

An experienced risk assurance, controls assurance or internal audit professional, you bring a strong understanding of risk management, controls and governance within a regulated environment.

Confident assessing risks and control frameworks, identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering practical recommendations, you're able to strengthen both business performance and regulatory compliance. Strong relationship-building skills enable you to influence senior stakeholders while balancing independent challenge with a collaborative approach.

Just as importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to help build and mature a growing assurance function. Working in evolving environments energises you, and you enjoy contributing new ideas, shaping frameworks and improving ways of working that will support the long-term success of the team.

To be successful, you'll have

  • Experience in risk assurance, controls assurance or internal audit within financial services, health insurance or a similarly regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, controls, governance and assurance practices
  • Experience assessing regulatory compliance requirements, including APRA standards such as CPS 230 and broader ASIC/FAR obligations
  • The ability to lead end-to-end assurance reviews, including planning, testing, reporting and remediation oversight
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
  • A degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Risk Management or a related discipline
  • Professional certifications such as CA, CPA or CIA

Experience gained within a Big 4 or leading chartered firm will be highly regarded.
