KPMG is required to operate a robust System of Quality Management (SoQM) in accordance with the International Standard on Quality Management 1 (ISQM1) and, going forward, QC1000 issued by the PCAOB. The firm and its personnel must also comply with KPMG’s risk management policies and procedures, alongside applicable legal, regulatory and professional standards. An effective SoQM, compliant with ISQM1 and QC1000, is fundamental to the firm’s licence to operate in the Audit market.

The Compliance Assurance Programme (CAP) Managers are accountable for delivering the testing programme, including coaching testers and reviewing compliance and controls testing across design, implementation and operating effectiveness. CAP Managers therefore play a key role in independently testing, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of the firm’s System of Quality Management and related risk management policies.
