Job Description
Under limited supervision, responsible for providing Secure Facility Human Resources Staff with guidance and support. Tasked with identifying developmental needs and facilitating training. While serving as a key resource, the incumbent will ensure that Local HR Personnel needs are met, concerns are addressed, and that they are supported in the facilitation of duties when needed. They will exhibit knowledge in Submitting Various Request in the Employee Tracking System, Kronos - Time Management, Family Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation, Background Applications, POST Data Gateway, Assistance with Facility Level Recruitment, list is not all inclusive.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as primary point of contact and support to facility level HR employees regarding HR-related queries and the need for training and development
- When necessary, collaborate with facility leadership to develop and implement HR strategies and processes that meet the needs of the department and promote a positive and productive workplace.
- Deliver administrative and operational support to secure facilities, ensuring efficient workflow and departmental objectives are met.
- Maintain a working relationship with Office of Human Resources Recruitment partners to ensure that all vacancies are filled with quality candidates.
- Assist as interview panelist for Human Resources vacancies in secure facilities.
- Assist in developing training plans for Human Resource staff in facilities.
- Participate in weekly meetings pertaining to Human Resources
- Generate and analyze reports for department managers, providing critical data insights to assist with strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Required statewide travel to support departmental initiatives and fulfill operational requirements across various locations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience related to area of assignment.
- Or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Busi Support Analyst1 (GSP130).
- Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possesses three or more of the following:
- Associate degree in human resources or other related field and two (2) years of experience related to area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Business Support Analyst 1 (GSP130).
- Two or more years of experience in Human Resources.
- Two or more years’ working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- At least two (2) years of experience using PeopleSoft.
