HOW A WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN FELLOW WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Position ships, receives and stores materials in a warehouse or storage facility.
- Receives and stores materials in a warehouse or storage facility in an organized manner and convenient location for removal when needed.
- Marks or tags articles as necessary for identification purposes.
- Retrieves stored material when requested, transports it to the requester, and returns material to storage as required.
- Develops and maintains effective warehouse storage practices that promote efficient storage, identification and retrieval.
- Maintains warehouse and shipping records and may use automated warehouse management system.
- Must operate hand and power equipment, including forklift, for material handling.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Facilitate in the planning and execution of container loads including weight balancing and bracing.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Education
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of related warehouse experience.
- Security Clearance Level: Active Secret Clearance
- Location: On Customer Site
- US Citizenship Required
- This is a hands-on position. Candidate must comfortable in an active warehouse environment using power tools, forklifts, pallets, jacks, saws, and/or drills.
DoW SkillBridge Eligibility
- Has served at least 180 days on active duty
- Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
- Will receive an honorable discharge
- Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
- Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoW SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
