About The Role

We are seeking qualified, enthusiastic, and culturally competent candidates to join our Part-Time Adjunct Instructor Pool for Adult EAL (English as Another Language).

We offer 8-week cohorts throughout the year, with our next session starting at the end of August. Applicants admitted to this pool will be reviewed and hired on an as-needed basis prior to the start of each cohort. Our in-person classes are taught at different locations: Fishers, Indianapolis, and Whitestown. We are currently seeking faculty for the Fishers location.

This is a part-time temporary position teaching 32 hours total (2 hours, twice a week in the evenings) for 8 weeks. Continued teaching opportunities may be available.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Position Description

In this role, instructors facilitate dynamic, practical language instruction for adult learners aiming to improve their English for personal, professional, or academic goals.

Position function and duties

  • Instruction: Deliver engaging, learner-centered English lessons focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing for real-world adult contexts.
  • Lesson Preparation: Plan and adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs, skill levels, and cultural backgrounds of adult students.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where adult students feel confident practicing new skills.
  • Assessment & Tracking: Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Communication: Coordinate with program administrators regarding curriculum, student needs, and facility logistics.

Minimum qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in education, English, or TESOL
  • Experience: Prior teaching experience
  • Skills: Strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility, patience, and enthusiasm for working with adult learners.
  • Reliable transportation to your assigned location (Fishers, Indianapolis, or Whitestown).
