Job Summary

Performs M-mode/2D and transesophageal echocardiograms exams in a manner that provides the highest level of patient satisfaction.

1. Environmental Demands: May perform exams in high-pressure emergency situations. Exposure to infection and disease.
2. Essential Physical and Cognitive Demands, Manual Dexterity: Good eye/hand coordination essential. Some lifting, pulling and pushing required. On feet most of day.

C. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Demonstrates the required job specific technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities. *

1. Operate all echocardiographic equipment, and perform all echocardiographic exams (M-mode,2D color flow, Doppler and TEE.
2. Recognize equipment malfunction and notifies supervisor.
3. Perform cardiac stress tests as requested by physicians.
4. Monitor supplies inventory.
5. Record images and data on hard copy as per established protocol.
6. Recognize anatomical structures, measurements and image as per established protocols.

2. Utilizes charge process for supplies/equipment and appropriate billing information including patient history.

D. PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS

1. Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Required
• Two years experience in M-mode/2D echocardiography preferred. One year experience Doppler and color flow preferred.
• RDCS or RCS in Echocardiography or Adult Echocardiography (AE) within 6 months of graduation of accredited program.
