About the Role

As part of our growing Artelia Airports team in Hong Kong , you will join a multidisciplinary group of airport professionals supporting airport development and master planning worldwide.

You will participate in the planning and design of airport infrastructure , from strategic studies to master planning and feasibility analysis, depending on your level of experience.

  • Assistant Engineer focus on coordination, analysis, and technical deliverables.
  • Project Engineer and Senior Engineer lead specific workstreams, coordinate with clients, manage project components, and support commercial activities.
  • Principal Engineers lead complex projects, oversee teams, and contribute to business development and strategic practice growth.

This position offers international exposure, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to travel for assignments abroad.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core Responsibilities (Applicable to All Levels):
  • Analyze client objectives, operational data, and technical requirements.
  • Conduct airport planning studies aligned with ICAO/IATA standards and best practices.
  • Perform analyses such as:
  • Market and traffic forecasts
  • Capacity assessments of airside and terminal systems
  • Functional layout and master planning coordination
  • Technical and financial feasibility evaluations
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other specialists across disciplines.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry trends, data sources, and tools.

Level-Specific Emphasis

  • Assistant Project Engineer:
  • Support project coordination, data analysis, and report preparation.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders under direction of senior staff.
  • Contribute to tool development and methodology updates.
  • Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer:
  • Lead discrete planning tasks and manage small to medium-scale project components.
  • Coordinate directly with clients and partners.
  • Ensure technical quality and consistency of deliverables.
  • Participate in proposal preparation and practice development.
  • Principal Engineer:
  • Lead multidisciplinary airport planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and quality assurance across projects.
  • Engage in business development, proposal leadership, and client relationship management.
  • Contribute to strategic direction and growth of Artelia’s Airport Planning practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Planning, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to exercise independent judgment suitable to experience level.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to grow in the airport industry.
  • Knowledge of ICAO/IATA regulations and guidelines preferred.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfortable managing large datasets.
  • Experience or skills in one or more of the following areas are highly desirable:
  • Traffic forecasting and flight schedule analysis
  • Capacity analysis and flow simulations (e.g., CAST, AirTOP, ARCPORT)
  • Financial and investment analysis
  • GIS or data visualization tools
