About The Role

Renaissance College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic candidate for the post of Physical & Health Educational Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support student learning across the PYP, MYP, and as required the DP curriculum and responding to students' individual/educational needs
  • Assist teachers in the delivery of Physical Education (practical & theoretical) lessons
  • Be actively engaged in the organisation of school PHE related events and support the school's wider coaching programme (Black Kites Sport)
  • To collate, prepare and keep stock of college wide PHE equipment in safe storage order in support of the work of the PHE dept
  • Manage daily administrative/organisational tasks as directed by HoD PHE/Primary PHE specialist
  • Supporting the schools sports programme including accompanying teams to away matches where necessary
  • Assistance with the administration of the Black Kites teams including but not limited to; communications, scheduling, transportation and other supportive roles

Requirements

The successful applicant is encouraged to have the following skills, abilities, knowledge and experience.

Personal Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organisational and administration skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff, students and parents
  • An interest in Teaching Physical Education/ Exercise training
  • An interest in working within a PE department, or similar role outside school e.g. Sports coach
  • Ability to develop a strong rapport with students and Colleagues
  • Maintain high levels of educational standards, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
  • Be able to respond well to designated protocol, process and procedures
  • Be able to work inclusively as part of a dynamic team

Knowledge and Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Google suite platform and an ability to utilise technology
  • Awareness or knowledge of school policies relating to health and safety, behavior, equal opportunities and child protection
  • Fluency in oral and written English (Understanding and use of Cantonese would be considered advantageous)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience
