First Year Apprentice Vacancy

Job Purpose

The Commercial Driving Apprentice will participate in a structured two-year development programme combining hands-on multidrop delivery driving with rotational experience across key logistics functions, including transport planning, fleet maintenance, and yard/shunter operations.

The purpose of the role is to develop fully qualified, competent, and safety-conscious commercial drivers with a broad operational understanding of the logistics and transport environment.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Driving Apprentice, you'll begin by learning the fundamentals of multi-drop delivery driving before gaining hands-on experience across a number of key operational departments.

Throughout the programme you'll work alongside experienced colleagues and receive mentoring and structured training in areas including:

  • Multi-drop delivery driving and customer service
  • Safe vehicle operation and daily vehicle inspections
  • Transport planning and route scheduling
  • Fleet maintenance processes and vehicle compliance
  • Yard operations and vehicle movements
  • Health & Safety and regulatory compliance
  • Manual handling, Electric Pallet Truck (EPT) and Tail Lift operation
  • Customer communication and delivery procedures

As your experience grows, you'll take on increasing responsibility while working towards becoming a fully qualified professional commercial driver.
