  • Salary: €36,605-€39,520 p.a.
  • Hours: 39 hours per week

Job Summary

HighCare Childcare is a purpose-built early years facility in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Playgroup Leader to join our team.

The successful candidate will provide quality early childhood care and education for children aged 1 to 6 years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 1 to 6 years.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate play and learning activities.
  • Support children's learning, development and wellbeing through daily activities.
  • Ensure the safety, health and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Assist in planning and implementing the curriculum in line with the Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
  • Observe children's progress and maintain appropriate records.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
  • Follow all childcare policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • QQI/FETAC Level 6 or higher (or equivalent recognised qualification) in Early Childhood Care and Education.
  • Experience working with children aged 1 to 6 years in an early years setting.
  • Knowledge of the Aistear and Síolta frameworks.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • First Aid or Children First training and experience in planning play-based learning activities would be an advantage.
