Pat & Anne Kelleher are seeking two reliable Dairy Farm Assistants for their dairy farm at Roovesmore, Coachford, Co. Cork. These are permanent full-time positions. The gross basic salary is €36,605 per annum for 39 hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist with milking and daily dairy routines.
  • Feed, bed and provide daily care for livestock.
  • Clean the milking parlour, equipment and work areas and maintain high hygiene standards.
  • Monitor animal health and report any concerns.
  • Assist during calving and with general livestock husbandry.
  • Carry out general farm maintenance and yard duties as required.
  • Follow all farm health and safety procedures and farm policies.

Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 1 year of practical dairy farm or livestock experience.
  • Ability to carry out physical farm work in outdoor conditions.
  • Good timekeeping, reliability and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate sufficiently in English for workplace safety.
  • No formal qualification is required. Training will be provided on farm-specific systems and procedures.
