About The Role

JOB SUMMARY

Manages station music library, both digital and physical, and shapes the sound of the station.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Listen to local and national music submissions and decide what to add to the station’s

automation system and/or the CD/Vinyl library

  1. Keep the music database current (ie: new releases) and curated
  2. Organize and maintain the physical media library
  3. Review new music, including writing and/or assigning Music Monday and website blogs
  4. Monitor, maintain, and respond to the Music Director Gmail account
  5. Communicate with Record Labels and Promotional Companies about new music and

concerts

  1. Maintain Music Scheduling software and database
  2. Effectively communicate tasks to Assistant Music Directors and follow-up to completion
  3. Audit DJ shows in Spinitron to ensure proper logging of songs
  4. Gather information and organize a report for most-played new songs on the station
  5. Report most-played new songs and new adds to NACC weekly before the deadline
  6. Communicate with all DJs about University and FCC rules and regulations
  7. Other duties and/or projects as assigned by the professional staff

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have prior experience of 1-semester minimum on WDCE Executive Board
  • Must possess problem solving and growth mindset with a positive attitude and an

initiative to resolve questions or concerns

  • Must work a minimum of 4 office hours per week
  • Preferred qualification of a 1-hour (minimum) on-air show
  • Must attend all weekly Executive Board meetings and General Staff Meetings (unless

previously-approved absence)

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Forms and social media

platforms

  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Approx. 15-20 hours/week
