Senior Systems Analyst - SAP (FICO)

About The Role
In collaboration with the Director, Corporate Solutions, the incumbent is responsible for acting as the SAP FICO functional expert for Transat’s Finance teams. The person identifies business needs, recommends effective solutions, and supports the evolution, optimization, and day-to-day operation of SAP solutions that enable critical financial processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, document, and validate business requirements, business rules, and requests for enhancements and system changes.
- Assess impacts, identify risks, and recommend solutions aligned with business needs and SAP best practices.
- Design, configure, validate, and implement SAP FICO solutions in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain functional documentation, including functional specifications related to developments and change requests.
- Provide application support to users and contribute to the resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Participate in the development of testing strategies, prepare test scenarios, and execute unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Develop training materials, support end users, and act as a SAP coach and subject matter expert within the team.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of financial processes and contribute to SAP implementation, upgrade, and transformation initiatives.
- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar SAP functional or systems analyst role.
- Strong expertise in SAP FICO and participation in at least one major SAP implementation, upgrade, or transformation project.
- Solid knowledge of financial processes, including general accounting, controlling, and management accounting.
- Customer-focused with strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of the airline, travel, or multi-entity business environment is considered an asset.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated aptitude for collaborative digital tools and AI solutions (e.g., Copilot). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Oral and written fluency in French and English*.
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
