About the role
Make a real difference in Pacific communities as a Support Worker in our Disability Peer led service. Walk alongside the peers to build trusted relationships, empower disabled people to achieve their goals.
This role is about supporting our Peer Workers (Disabled peoples within our organisation) to build great relationships with the disabled people.
- You will listen, providing encouragement and development, and:
- Create a space where disabled people feel heard, valued, and supported.
- Support our Peer Workers to navigate their work with clients and ensure they deliver positive outcomes.
- Promote respect for culture and diversity, ensuring Pacific perspectives are authentically recognized and valued.
- Be part of a supportive, values-driven team that truly believes in the strength of lived experience.
About you
- Knowledge and understanding of a Pacific culture.
- Experience working as a support worker in the community
- Satisfy requirements for working with vulnerable adults including police vetting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Clean, full NZ Drivers licence
- Good communication skills in English, and ideally a Pacific language
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
