Hiire is helping a Renewable Energy company hire an IT Security Manager for its office in Matosinhos.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role. It's not just a job, but a mission to protect our assets, ensure business runs smoothly, and stay ahead in a non-stop evolving threat landscape.

You’ll be the central security mind, working with every team, top-tier vendors, and external security entities.

What you'll do

  • Own the Security Domain: You'll lead the Cybersecurity area, making sure our security strategy is perfectly aligned with business goals and the IT Director’s vision.
  • Build the Dream Team: Recruit, mentor, and grow the security team. You'll champion a strong security-first culture across the entire Group.
  • Strategic Visionary: Work with the IT Director to define future projects and budget, always driving continuous improvement in our security posture.
  • Defend & Respond: Monitor and manage all asset-related risks to guarantee our information is confidential, integrated, and available 24/7.
  • Threat Hunter: Coordinate the gathering of threat intelligence, implement smart mitigation steps, and manage all security incidents and emergencies. This includes regular, rigorous testing of our disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Guardrail Creator: Ensure we comply with all local and international laws, best practices, and regulations. Develop and update clear, effective security policies and procedures.
  • Tech Implementer: Design, deploy, and manage advanced security solutions that are both protective and practical. You will manage core security tools like SIEM and vulnerability scanners to cover the full risk lifecycle.
  • External Networker: Maintain key relationships with SOCs, suppliers, and security entities. You'll also lead awareness and training to level up security knowledge across the Group.

What you should bring

  • A degree in Computer Engineering, Networks, or a similar field ;
  • Specialized technical training in Cybersecurity;
  • Key Certifications (or equivalent mastery) :
  • Cisco (CCNP or higher)
  • Fortinet NSE (PCP or higher)
  • Splunk (Cybersecurity Defense Analyst or Enterprise Security Certified Admin)
  • Proven skills in Penetration Testing / Ethical Hacking
  • Expertise in Operating System security at the administration level (Windows and Linux)
  • Deep experience with SIEM, vulnerability management, and other security platforms;
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership and people development;
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, incident response, and information security best practices;
  • Experience in defining and implementing robust security policies and controls;
  • The ability to communicate complex issues clearly to both technical teams and business leaders;
  • A high sense of ownership, independence, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure;
  • Experience in regulated industries and managing security audits;
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset: you anticipate risks before they become problems.
