Computational Pathology Scientist

Brown University · Remote, United States

Diagnostics / LaboratoryEntry LevelRemoteQuick applyfull-time2 days ago

About The Role

The Computational Pathology Scientist will support hospital-based pathology faculty across two health systems in the implementation and execution of artificial intelligence–driven research projects focused on digital pathology and clinically relevant problem-solving. This role applies advanced computational approaches—including deep learning, foundation models, and large language models—to address complex diagnostic and workflow challenges that cannot be solved using conventional methods.

This position operates within a pilot-stage computational pathology initiative and collaborates with an advisory team to evaluate and prioritize proposed projects based on scientific impact, feasibility, and available resources. The computational environment consists primarily of locally managed high-performance systems, supplemented by academic clusters and cloud-based platforms as appropriate. Projects involving protected health information (PHI) are conducted exclusively within secure, locally hosted high-performance computing environments to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of one year from the date of hire, which may be extended based upon available funding.
