Public Safety Supervisor

About The Role
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including select evenings and weekends to meet college business needs.
- Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- Ability to communicate difficult messages in a professional manner.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds and at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.
- Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner
- Must be goal and team oriented to build positive working relationships, and conduct business with attention to ethical considerations, and/or school/accreditation guidelines.
- Ability to maintain card access, critical communication, fire and security alarms, IP camera systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.
- While performing the duties the individual is required to stand, walk, climb stairwells, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work is frequently performed inside, with occasional outdoor duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate Degree and 2 years of directly related experience (to substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree);
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Has a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driver’s background check
- Knowledge of higher education compliance requirements (Campus Security Act, OSHA, FERPA, Title IX)
- First responder, first aid, CPR, AED certification
- Preferred knowledge of card access, critical communication, fire and security alarms, IP camera systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills sufficient to participate in discussions and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
