Cricket Manager - Western Metro
Queensland Cricket is seeking a passionate and dynamic Cricket Manager to join our Community Cricket team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Albion, offering the chance to play a key role in driving the growth and expansion of cricket across the Western Brisbane and Ipswich region.
About the role
As Cricket Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing and sustaining grassroots cricket. Working closely with clubs, schools, associations, and key stakeholders, you will drive participation, enhance pathways, and create inclusive cricket experiences for all participants.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will lead regional initiatives that increase engagement, support volunteers, and ensure the long-term success of community cricket.
This role will require you to develop and inspire a network of volunteers and casual employees, who will support cricket within the region.
About you
You are a proactive and relationship-focused individual who is passionate about growing community sport and creating positive experiences for participants of all backgrounds. You thrive in a fast-paced, community-facing environment and bring a collaborative approach to working with a broad range of stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate
- Strong relationship-building capability, with proven experience engaging and influencing clubs, volunteers, schools, and community groups
- Experience in community sport or not-for-profit environments, with a solid understanding of how clubs and volunteer networks operate
- Sound knowledge of inclusion and diversity principles, with a genuine commitment to creating welcoming and accessible environments for all participants
- Understanding of child safety requirements and the ability to implement safeguarding policies and practices
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, budgets, and deadlines
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
- Ability to travel across the Western Brisbane and Ipswich region
You’ll also bring strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), sound judgement, and the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic sporting environment. Formal tertiary qualifications (or working towards) are beneficial, but not a barrier to success.
Essential Certifications / Licenses
- Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a QLD Blue Card
- "C” class Australian drivers licence
- Current first aid and CPR qualification or the ability to obtain prior to commencing employment
