Your Role as Manager – Digital Products and Innovation

You are responsible for leading the identification, development and scaling of digital innovation opportunities across WMQ, alongside the strategic oversight and operational leadership of enterprise (gold tier) applications and associated product specialist teams.

The Manager – Digital Products and Innovation drives strategic initiatives, champions emerging technologies and innovation practices, and ensures that core enterprise platforms (e.g. finance, HR, clinical systems) are effectively governed, continuously improved and deliver reliable, high-value business outcomes.

This role bridges innovation and operational excellence, ensuring digital investments and core systems together deliver tangible business and customer outcomes aligned to WMQ priorities

You’ll deliver this role by

• Build strong organisational relationships and maintain a deep understanding of IT&S and broader strategy to identify and enable innovation opportunities.
• Identify, prioritise and deliver digital innovation and enterprise system enhancements aligned to strategic priorities.
• Lead the development of innovation roadmaps, concepts and business cases, informed by emerging technologies, industry trends and system evaluations.
• Lead, develop, and mentor the team, setting clear accountabilities and performance expectations.
• Establish clear ownership, governance and accountability to ensure system performance, stability and risk management.
• Drive continuous system improvement through structured product management and stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective change management and adoption of new capabilities.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation and evidence-based decision making.
• Partner with business leaders to translate needs into prioritised product backlogs and deliver measurable value.
• Oversee vendors, support models and service performance to meet agreed outcomes.
• Ensure lifecycle management, sustainability and future readiness of platforms.

What We’re Looking For

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Digital Innovation or related field.
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing enterprise applications, product teams, or critical business systems in a complex environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading strategic initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Proven people leadership skills with the ability to transition teams to higher maturity and accountability.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including workshop facilitation and problem solving.

A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!

• Experience with innovation frameworks, design thinking, or agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of digital architecture, data platforms, integrations and software development lifecycle.
