Catastrophic Injury Team
The Role
We are looking to recruit an Associate (2–5 PQE) to join our Catastrophic Injury team at Clyde & Co, Manchester. This is a key role within a high-performing and nationally recognised practice, acting for leading insurer, clients on complex, high-value personal injury claims.
You will manage a caseload of multi-track claims, with a particular focus on catastrophic and large loss matters arising from Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL), including cases involving serious and life-changing injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex EL/PL claims, including catastrophic and large loss matters
- Assisting partners and senior lawyers on high-value, technically challenging cases
- Conducting detailed liability investigations and quantum assessments
- Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documentation
- Supporting clients with strategic case management and early resolution strategies
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service
- Contributing to team knowledge sharing and wider business development initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 2–5 years’ PQE
- Proven experience handling Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims
- Experience of multi-track litigation, ideally including catastrophic or large loss matters
- Strong technical ability and a proactive approach to case management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused mindset
