About The Role

Role : Legal Cashier

Hybrid working: a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

  1. Overview

To support Clyde & Co’s finance function by managing client account transactions in strict compliance with the applicable Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (including Northern Ireland requirements where relevant) and firm policies. The role focuses on the safeguarding, control, and accurate recording of client monies within a regulated legal environment.

  1. Key Responsibilities
  • Process all domestic/overseas payment of funds from both client and office accounts.
  • Perform daily and monthly client account reconciliations , ensuring all balances are accurate and fully supported.
  • Process appropriate ledger entries for all client and office funds receipted direct into the firm bank accounts.
  • Monitor and action all transfers between client and office account in accordance with SAR/internal policies.
  • Provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to all clients (internal & external) by actioning their enquiries promptly whilst ensuring that appropriate client service standards are maintained.
  • Promote, maintain and proactively develop strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure high levels of client focus and service delivery.
  • Support internal and external audits, including provision of documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor client ledger balances to ensure no breaches of rules or residual balances arise.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as necessary
  1. Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
  • Strong understanding of client money handling and Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (UK / NI desirable).
  • Experience using a legal finance system such as Elite 3E or similar.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work within a controlled environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with fee earners and finance colleagues globally.

This role sits within a highly regulated environment where the accurate handling of client funds is critical. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining Clyde & Co’s strong financial control framework and regulatory compliance across its global operations.
