About The Role
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior secretarial experience.
- Proficiency in typing skills.
- Experienced with Excel, Microsoft Word, and other computer systems.
- Organized, with ability to multi-task while performing high quality work in stressful situations.
- Remain courteous, poised, and gracious to the public and staff at all times.
- Be a Notary Public or ability to obtain notary status.
- Proficient spoken and written English.
- Punctual, trustworthy, honest, and reliable. Be at work from 8am-5pm, 5 days per week.
- Pass background, criminal history check, and drug test.
OTHER: Ability to speak and understand Spanish, though not a qualification requirement, is desirable.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES
- Perform Legal Secretarial work for Attorneys.
- Primary duties include (but are not limited to): Type and prepare, accurately and professionally, and within time constraints, a multitude of legal documents.
- Secondary duties include (but are not limited to): Answering in-coming telephone lines and directing callers to proper individual/entity.
- File court papers and documents with proper office in a timely fashion using the E-File system.
- Other duties include (but are not limited to) data entry and records management.
- Taking messages for all employees.
- Greeting and assisting visitors/callers in a cordial and polite manner.
- Assist other staff as directed by the District Attorney, First Asst. or Office Manger
