About The Role
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess certification as a Juvenile Supervision Officer.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Be willing to obtain additional training, skills, and experience.
- Possess the ability to write accurate behavioral notes, incident reports, and disciplinary plans on supervising juveniles temporarily residing in the facility.
- Be physically able to handle contingencies that arise in the detention center.
- Be available to work hours assigned based on the needs of the Department. This includes 10-6, 6-2 and 2-10 shift and weekends.
- Be of good moral character.
EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES
- Supervise children, ages 10 through 16, temporarily detained in the detention center and act as lead officer when required.
- Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for juveniles temporarily residing in the facility.
- Monitor all activities to ensure the safety of the children.
- Coordinate and supervise building clean-up to constantly maintain building cleanliness.
- Required to arrange, monitor, and supervise group activities.
- Provide effective crisis counseling.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by supervisor or the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer.
SALARY RANGE: $45,851.44 ANNUALLY
