Accounting Officer (Research Services) - Finance Office

The Accounting Officer will oversee all aspects of research project accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of incomes and expenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis, reporting, and post-event reviews of functional areas for management discussion.
• Prepare financial reports for research projects following University and funding agencies' accounting policies.
• Establish project accounts for research projects, manage daily budget inquiries, and handle administration matters.
• Assess internal controls, maintain financial systems per policies/procedures.
• Perform User Acceptance Tests for system development and process enhancements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or related fields with a minimum of 4 years of experience.
• Preferably a member or student member of accounting bodies like HKICPA/ACCA.
• Experience with relevant ERP systems is advantageous.
• Must possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with University staff.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Assistant Accounting Officer.

( Duration: 2 years , renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
