Provo City Peaks Ice Arena is hiring part-time Learn-to-Skate Ice Instructors to coach new skaters at the Peaks Ice Arena. This position involves working in the rink with skaters on a variety of levels based on coaching proficiency.

What is the compensation?
$10.00 per hour. Payment will be by direct deposit.

What will I do?
- Instruct participants ages two to adult in ice skating from the beginning to intermediate level.
- Assist the Skating Coordinator and other Recreation staff members as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What requirements do I need to apply?
- Sufficient ice skating experience which would demonstrate an ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Preference given to candidates who have previously instructed or coached.
- Previous experience working with children may be beneficial.
What are the hours?
Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:00 -7:00 p.m., Wednesdays 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and Saturday mornings 10:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.
What are the physical and environmental factors?
This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including, standing and/or ice-skating during instruction and minor bending; the ability to work outside in the cold and other weather conditions; and work with the public in possibly stressful situations.
What is the selection process?
This is an open file posting . Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted for any positions available at that time. They will remain on file for a minimum of 60 days. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
