Job Duties
Organizes and administers intercollegiate sports. May supervise staff and/or have budgetary responsibility. May conduct practices, identify and recruit qualified student-athletes, develop competitive schedules, coordinate team travel, and ensure compliance with governing rules and regulations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Head Coach and in accordance with all NCAA,
- Conference, State and Institutional rules and regulations this position will
- assist the head coach in all phases of a Division I Track & Field/Cross
- Country program, specializing in coaching the cross country and distance
- student-athletes. Duties will include teaching the technical aspects of the
- sport, developing student-athletes athletically, assist with recruitment of
- prospective student-athletes including but not limited to engaging in
- official and unofficial visits, electronic and phone correspondence with
- prospective student-athletes, and traveling to meets and competitions
- where prospects are competing. This position will assist the head coach
- and the academic staff in monitoring the student-athletes academic
- progress, work closely in conjunction with the head coach to manage
- athletic scholarship spending for distance group, and support the head
- coach with administrative responsibilities.
- This individual must know, recognize and comply with the laws, policies,
- rules and regulations governing University and its employees, and the
- rules of the National Collegiate Athletic Association ("NCAA") and the
- applicable Conference, as now constituted or as they may be amended
- during the Term of employment. Employee shall take all reasonable steps
- to endeavor to ensure that all any employees for whom Employee is
- administratively responsible, comply with aforesaid policies, rules, and
- regulations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years collegiate coaching experience in cross country/distance
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules
Preferred Qualifications
- USATF Level 1, 2, or 3 certification
- USTFCCCA Academy Coursework
- Demonstrated success with collegiate cross country/distance program
Salary Range
Commensurate with Experience
