Job Overview

The Assistant Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for academic advising, academic program development and recruiting activities for the Master of Arts in International Migration and Refugees (MIMR) program at the Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM). The Assistant Director of Academic Affairs manages MIMR admissions and recruitment, coordinates with the ISIM Director and faculty in program and curriculum development, and develops outreach activities related to current students, alumni, and other stakeholder groups.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

This position reports to the Director of ISIM and works closely with the MIMR Associate Director and other faculty, staff, and students of the Institute and graduate program, along with other SFS and University offices, and a wide array of external audiences.

This position has been designated as Hybrid. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position’s mode of work designation. Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3-5 years of related experience in academic administration, including curricular and advising responsibilities for graduate or undergraduate students. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience in program administration related to the study of international migration and refugees is strongly preferred. Must demonstrate a high level of organization and attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to responsive student services.

Pay Range

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
