Job Details

Purpose

Seeking to hire 1-2 undergraduate students to assist in a computational analysis of bacterial genomes, metagenomes and microbiomes.

Responsibilities

  • This position involves the processing and analysis of large-scale, publicly available genomic resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Students seeking this position must be reliable, self-motivated and intellectually curious, with a strong interest and expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology.
  • Experience with programming and informatic analysis is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desired, but not required, skills include knowledge of sequence databases and working with genomic data.
  • Applicants need to be meticulous, well-organized, and able to keep up-to-date records.

Hourly Rate

$15.00/hour

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Students may be exposed to honeybees in lab spaces.
  • Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
  • May work around chemical fumes.
  • May work around biohazards.
  • May work around chemicals.
