Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Precision CNC Mill Machinist to support the production of high-quality components used in industrial, marine, heavy equipment, and energy applications. This position is responsible for machine setup, CNC operation, program editing, part inspection, and continuous process improvement within a fast-paced job shop environment.

The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, enjoys solving production challenges, and is committed to producing precision parts that meet strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complete setups on multi-axis CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines .
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, machining drawings, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Machine precision components to tolerances of approximately ±.002" .
  • Inspect finished parts using standard measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Edit existing CNC programs and create new CNC programs to improve production.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve fixtures and workholding for production parts.
  • Work with the Production Manager to develop tooling, fixtures, dies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform machining operations including milling, turning, drilling, grinding, shaping, and hand-tool work as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues independently.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Meet production schedules while working with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC milling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining documentation.
  • 3+ years of experience editing and creating CNC programs preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience developing production fixtures preferred.
  • Experience using SolidWorks CAM PRO preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and setup procedures.
  • Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel .
  • Ability to inspect precision components using standard measuring equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
