Position Overview
We are seeking a Workplace Safety & Compliance Coordinator to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing and fabrication environment. This hands-on position partners with employees and leadership to promote safe work practices, identify workplace hazards, assist with safety training, and help ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
This role requires regular time on the production floor, building strong relationships with employees, and contributing to a safe, efficient workplace.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active presence throughout production and fabrication areas.
- Monitor daily operations to identify workplace hazards and safety concerns.
- Promote safe work practices and a positive safety culture.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and document findings.
- Track corrective actions and follow through to completion.
- Support compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Assist with new hire safety orientation, training, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Provide safety coaching and guidance to employees and supervisors.
- Assist with incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Help implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and compliance files.
- Support ongoing improvements to safety programs and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in safety, EHS, risk management, manufacturing, or an industrial environment.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard recognition, and incident investigation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with employees at all levels.
- ASP, CSP, or other professional safety certifications are preferred.
