As a Sysadmin / DevOps Engineer, you will help build, maintain, and improve our infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and reliable. You will work on automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure improvements while contributing to the continuous evolution of our DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, upgrade, and patch our servers, operating systems, and software.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and infrastructure workflows.
- Evaluate, deploy, and maintain new technologies to improve our infrastructure and services.
- Develop and maintain ChatOps integrations to streamline operations.
- Improve our CI/CD pipelines for faster, more reliable builds and deployments.
- Monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with the R&D team to resolve them.
- Enhance observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Design and maintain high-availability solutions, including redundancy, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.
- Implement and regularly test backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintain infrastructure security by applying updates, hardening systems, and managing access controls.
- Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and operational runbooks.
Skills & Qualifications
You should have
- Experience administering Ubuntu/Linux systems.
- Working knowledge of Bash scripting and basic PHP scripting.
- Experience with Docker and containerized/microservice-based architectures.
- Experience configuring and maintaining web servers such as Apache and Nginx.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL or MariaDB).
- A strong understanding of security best practices and a commitment to protecting user privacy.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Will be considered a plus
The following qualifications will be considered an advantage
- Comfortable programming in at least one language (e.g., PHP, Go, Python, or Bash).
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection best practices.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a high-availability production environment.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: HAProxy, Nomad, Consul, Jenkins, BIND (named), Bacula, Memcached, Postfix, iptables
