JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and driving effective financial management for the Radio business. The incumbent will oversee end-to-end reporting, support business decision-making, and lead a team to deliver accurate and timely financial insights.
What You’ll Do
Financial Reporting & Closing
- Oversee and manage month-end closing activities in accordance with Group timelines
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and accounting records through robust controls and verification processes
- Prepare monthly management accounts in line with business and management requirements
- Perform detailed analysis of revenue, operating expenditure (OPEX), and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for management review
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Act as the key liaison for external audit and statutory reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with MFRS and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements
- Oversee balance sheet integrity across entities within the Radio Group
- Undertake periodic asset impairment assessments and sensitivity analysis
- Prepare statutory reporting packs, including submissions to relevant authorities (e.g. Department of Statistics)
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process aligned with business objectives and 3-year business plans
- Prepare monthly forecasts, including variance analysis and insights
- Monitor production cost budgets and utilisation
Cost Allocation & Tax
- Ensure accurate cross-charging and cost allocation within the Radio group in line with transfer pricing requirements
- Collaborate with Corporate Tax on tax computation, filing, and payments
Analysis & Business Partnering
- Analyse revenue trends using market data, surveys, and industry indicators
- Partner with business units to understand operational drivers and financial impact
- Support evaluation of business initiatives, investments, and cost optimisation opportunities
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Strengthen business unit segmental reporting
- Prepare reports and presentation materials for Board and Senior Leadership Team (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Manage dividend declaration processes and documentation
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders across the Astro Group
Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Drive process improvements in reporting, systems, and operational efficiency
- Support or lead ad hoc projects as assigned by HOD and Director of Astro Audio
REQUIREMENTS
Who You Are
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including audit experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax matters
- Experience in complex GL structures, cost allocation, and multi-entity environments
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems (SAP experience is an advantage)
- Strong understanding of end-to-end finance operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
