As a Lead Software Engineer, you will define and drive the technical direction within a focused product or platform area. You will solve complex engineering challenges, guide others through code, design and architecture, and raise engineering standards across the team and organization. This role blends deep hands‑on technical delivery with technical leadership, mentoring, and shaping the long‑term quality and resilience of our systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and deploy applications across all phases of the software lifecycle, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Architect and evolve distributed systems operating in cloud environments, with a focus on resilience, observability, and efficient operations.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth, automated delivery and high‑quality releases.
- Collaborate on API development, integration patterns, and service‑to‑service communication.
- Work with modern infrastructure tooling (Azure, containers, dev containers, IaC) to support fast, reliable deployments.
- Apply expertise in Data Lake, Change Data Feed , AKS and Microsoft Fabric to guide solution architecture and delivery.
- Provide hands‑on leadership, supporting engineers through code reviews, design walkthroughs, and architectural discussions.
- Raise engineering quality by influencing standard methodologies, improving reusability, and reducing duplication across the platform.
What You’ll Bring
Technical Excellence
- Proven ability to design and implement complex, distributed systems operating at scale.
- Strong programming expertise with the ability to work comfortably with object oriented and functional patterns.
- Good understanding of relational databases.
- Hands on capability with SQL, Spark SQL and core data engineering patterns.
- Strong understanding of system design, integration patterns, and secure communication between services.
- Ability to apply domain knowledge to guide team level technical decisions, improve architecture, and drive consistency.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Own delivery of critical platform capabilities and provide clear technical direction.
- Guide and mentor peers, helping them grow in coding quality, architectural thinking, and engineering standard methodologies.
- Influence technical decisions through hands on leadership, not hierarchy.
- Foster an environment of collaboration, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Customer Focus
- Design solutions with an understanding of how systems behave in real world customer use.
- Take ownership of operational issues, respond quickly to incidents, and use data and feedback to enhance system reliability.
Risk Management
- Advocate for secure, safe delivery across software, infrastructure, and platform layers.
- Dive deep into trade offs, resolve blockers, and build resilience into team systems and practices from the start.
Analytical Approach
- Use data, metrics, and experimentation to validate assumptions and influence design choices.
- Encourage data driven decision making within the team to drive innovation and improvement.
Adaptability
- Promote new engineering methods, challenge outdated practices, and inspire change across teams.
- Invest in ongoing development — of your craft and the team’s capabilities — through coaching, feedback, and technical guidance.
Communication
- Tailor communication to both technical and non technical audiences.
- Explain design decisions clearly and build a shared understanding that accelerates delivery.
