Embedded Software Engineer

About You

We are looking for engineers that really like embedded systems and have some years of work experience in developing embedded systems. You should also like working in team and have a supporting attitude.

Experience and Qualifications

• Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer science or Software Development
• Work experience in software development and/or verification in Electronic Systems

Skilled in C, C++, Python and XML

Experience of development in Linux and Qt is beneficial

Basic hardware knowledge required in order to configure ECU's, carry out I/O-testing etc.

Experience of working with requirements, documentation and module test

Experience of working in Automotive or Train industry is beneficial

Enjoy working in a cross functional, international environment

Eager to learn and work with your own and the team's development

Within the area of Core Technology Electrics & Electronic Platform we are looking to hire an Embedded Software engineer. Our department, Embedded Software and Common Applications, develops and maintains software frameworks for machine ECUs and Instrument clusters which is used in a majority of Volvo CE products such as for example Wheel loaders, Haulers and Excavators.

As an Embedded Software engineer you will join a team of skilled developers developing the base software functionality in the machine system that is developed globally within Volvo CE.

Job tasks, example

Create and refine requirements and design

Develop new functions (i.e. device drivers, protocol) and features

Implement and test new functions in the platforms

Work cross functionally with other departments to design and secure the very best machine functionality
