The mission of our One Firm Risk Organisation (OFRO) is to help our colleagues navigate the complex regulatory environment in which we operate . They do this by translating legal and regulatory requirements into clear policies, procedures and practical guidance that support our colleagues in their day-to-day work.
We are looking for a ( Senior ) Associate to join the OFRO team in Brussels, to support the firm’s compliance with risk management standards and legal obligations.
Your impact
As a Risk and Compliance Specialist , you’ll make an impact by
- Supporting our firmwide Risk Management function with setting up the Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and monitoring of the Key Risk Indicators of our firm.
- Supporting our AML Compliance function with the design of our AML policy, procedures, and work instructions.
- Preparing advice based on regulatory guidance for high-risk AML cases and escalations related to Sanctions and Embargoes.
- Support ing other OFRO colleagues on topics linked with client and supplier due diligence, screening and risk assessment.
- Co-steer ing our firmwide communications and awareness on various matters of risk and compliance.
- Acting as project manager in special projects linked with all the possible OFRO domains.
About you
We are looking for a ( senior ) associate with the following profile
- A master's degree in law, economics, criminology or similar and at least two years of work experience. Preferably in AML & KYC and/or Sanctions & Embargoes.
- You have an inquisitive mind and a strong risk and compliance mindset. You understand that we serve the business, within certain boundaries.
- You have a natural curiosity and a general interest in not only compliance and ethics , but also our business of providing assurance, tax and legal advice and consulting. You are looking to advance your skills and experience in these areas.
- You want to understand how new technologies work and how they can serve our long-term goals.
- The ability to understand complex legal frameworks and processes , how they fit together and can be applied in practice .
- You are good at following procedures but you can also think outside the box and you enjoy helping others.
- A quality-driven mindset; you’re also flexible, proactive, service- minded and open to change.
- Excellent verbal and written English, together with good knowledge of French and/or Dutch.
