Position Highlights Full-time Pediatrician specializing in Child Abuse within the established CARE Team at Children's Hospital of Michigan Inpatient consultation and chart review of active and discharged cases Outpatient follow-up for patients seen during inpatient consults Coordination of referrals to community trauma-based therapy programs Communication of medical findings to CPS, law enforcement, and other community partners Court testimony as a medical expert in child maltreatment cases Community education focused on child abuse recognition and impact Teaching and precepting opportunities with medical students, residents, and pediatric emergency medicine fellows Participation in local, state, and federal child advocacy initiatives 228-bed academic children's hospital within the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) system What We Offer Competitive compensation commensurate with experience in academic child abuse pediatrics Academic appointment with opportunities for curriculum development, skills assessment, and fellow precepting Collaborative, mission-driven team environment within a nationally recognized pediatric institution Malpractice insurance provided Health, dental, and life insurance 401(k) with employer matching Deferred compensation program Relocation assistance Candidate Requirements Board Certified with the American Board of Pediatrics Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics Fellowship training in Child Abuse and Maltreatment preferred Academic experience including medical student, resident, or fellow precepting, curriculum development, and/or evaluation and skills assessment Must be eligible to obtain licensure in the State of Michigan Why Detroit Detroit is a city in the middle of a compelling comeback — with a revitalized downtown, a thriving food and arts scene, and a fierce civic pride that's hard to find anywhere else.
