About The Role
Ops Coordinator I, II or Sr Coordinates and manages city permitting activities to ensure all required approvals are obtained prior to construction and operational work. Implements and monitors Company construction, operations, and maintenance programs. Directs, instructs, and evaluates distribution and field service activities, including meter installation, maintenance, and repair work on the gas distribution system. Inspects Company and contractor work to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, while coordinating pipeline safety initiatives. Provides special project and process management support, as well as operational oversight and administrative support, to Operations Supervisors and the Operations Manager. Representative Duties and Responsibilities Coordinates and manages city, state, and local permitting activities , ensuring all required permits and approvals are secured prior to the start of construction activities and maintaining compliance with jurisdictional requirements throughout project execution. Serves as the primary liaison with permitting authorities, municipalities, regulatory agencies, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate project approvals and resolve permitting issues. Represents the Company at pre-construction meetings with permitting jurisdictions, DOT, homeowners, developers, contractors, and other external stakeholders. Coordinates installation and maintenance of gas mains, meters, and gas services. Advises Engineers on the constructability and cost-effectiveness of gas facility installations. Reviews contractor invoices and as-built records for accuracy and ensures submitted records match completed gas facility installations. Monitors and updates the Company Work Management System with required project and permitting information. Reviews Click Mobile work orders and assesses field projects, including multi-family, industrial, residential, and commercial developments. Manages and supports special projects and assignments for Operations. Recommends field design changes to maintain project schedules and control costs. Oversees projects from initiation through installation; provides periodic progress reports to Service Center Management and updates Engineering, Sales, and Mapping Services on relevant field information. Maintains construction and permitting records within assigned Service Center(s) and provides field documentation to contractors as needed. Communicates with homeowners, business owners, developers, contractors, and permitting jurisdictions to resolve complaints, claims, and project-related concerns. Performs inspections and audits to ensure safety, contractor work quality, and compliance with Company standards, permitting requirements, and DOT regulations. Provides on-call supervisory support after normal business hours, on weekends, and on a rotational basis. Monitors and controls inventory of emergency and spare materials for the Transmission and Distribution Departments. Education and Experience: Required: High School Diploma or GED 3-5 years experience in Distribution underground and Field Service above ground maintenance and construction Coordinator I (0-2 years of experience) Coordinator II (3+ years of experience) Coordinator SR (4+ years of experience) Or Equivalent academic education and experience Skills: Preferred: Work Management Information System – intermediate proficiency PeopleSoft Financials - basic proficiency Knowledge of natural gas Distribution facilities, Company policies, procedures and gas operating methods and standards Technical knowledge of the installation of mains, services, and metering and regulating facilities, and other Distribution facilities Knowledge of appropriate records, and documentation processes (i.e., test records, contractor invoicing, and main/service construction contract) Knowledge of GIS and Microsoft Office products.
