About the Role Reporting to: Admissions Manager Role Type: Individual Contributor (IC) Role with No Direct Reports The University of York Mumbai is seeking an Assistant Manager - Admissions to support the University's student recruitment and admissions function. Reporting to the Admissions Manager, this role will be responsible for driving the end-to-end admissions journey, from outreach and lead generation through enrolment, while delivering an exceptional prospective student experience. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual who is equally comfortable engaging with prospective students, parents, schools, education counsellors and institutional partners, as they are managing admissions operations and data. The successful candidate will contribute to achieving enrolment targets while supporting the development of admissions processes within a growing institution. Key Responsibilities 1. Student Recruitment & Outreach •Support student recruitment initiatives to achieve admissions and enrolment targets. •Conduct outreach activities including school visits, education fairs, university events, webinars, information sessions and networking opportunities. •Develop and maintain relationships with schools, colleges, education counsellors, institutional partners and other key stakeholders to strengthen the University's recruitment pipeline. •Represent the University professionally at recruitment and promotional events. 2. Applicant Engagement & Conversion •Engage with prospective students and parents through inbound and outbound calls, emails, virtual meetings and face-to-face interactions. •Counsel applicants on programmes, admissions requirements, scholarships and the application process. •Manage the applicant pipeline through timely follow-ups, counselling and engagement activities to maximise conversion at every stage of the admissions journey. •Maintain regular communication with applicants throughout the admissions process. 3. Admissions Operations •Manage the admissions process from enquiry through enrolment. •Review applications for completeness and coordinate document verification. •Ensure timely progression of applications through each stage of the admissions process. •Maintain accurate applicant records within CRM and Student Information Systems. •Ensure compliance with University admissions policies, eligibility criteria and document requirements. 4. Interview & Selection Coordination •Coordinate interviews between applicants and faculty. •Manage interview scheduling, communication and documentation. •Track selection outcomes and ensure timely communication with applicants. •Support high-volume admissions and interview cycles while maintaining a high standard of applicant experience. 5. Student Experience •Deliver a professional, responsive and student-centric admissions experience. •Resolve applicant queries by coordinating with internal stakeholders. •Support enrolment and onboarding activities for admitted students. 6. Stakeholder Management •Collaborate closely with Academic, Marketing, Student Services, Registry and Operations teams to ensure seamless admissions execution. •Work closely with the Admissions Manager on recruitment campaigns, admissions events and institutional initiatives. •Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support recruitment objectives. 7. Data Management & Reporting •Maintain accurate admissions records and applicant data. •Track admissions pipeline, conversion rates and recruitment activities. •Analyse admissions data and trends to identify opportunities for improving recruitment and conversion performance. •Prepare admissions reports and dashboards to support decision-making. •Ensure confidentiality, integrity and accuracy of applicant information. 8. Process Improvement •Support the continuous improvement of admissions processes, systems and applicant experience. •Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and conversion outcomes. •Contribute to the development of scalable admissions processes that support the University's future growth. Qualifications & Experience •Bachelor's degree in any discipline. A Master's degree is preferred. •3-5 years of relevant experience in admissions or student recruitment within a recognised university or higher education institution is essential. •Demonstrated experience in admissions counselling, student recruitment, outreach and conversion. •Experience working with CRM platforms and Student Information Systems. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Strong interpersonal, presentation and stakeholder management skills. •Ability to travel locally for recruitment events, school visits and outreach activities. •Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
