About The Role
Role Purpose
The Operation Excellence role is crucial in driving efficiency, standardisation, and continuous improvement across the company's global operations. This position supports the strategic initiatives aimed at optimising processes and enhancing operational performance in a high-growth environment. The incumbent will play a key role in fostering a culture of excellence and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Process Optimisation & Standardisation
- Identify and analyse operational inefficiencies and bottlenecks across various business units.
- Design and implement standardised operational procedures and best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for all key operational processes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline workflows and reduce operational risks.
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead and support operational improvement projects from initiation to completion.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
- Ensure successful adoption of new processes and technologies through robust change management.
- Monitor project progress and report on key milestones to stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Define and track key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Utilise data analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and deliver training programs on new processes and operational best practices.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across departments to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a subject matter expert for operational excellence methodologies.
- Mentor and support team members in adopting new operational standards.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, preferably within a large international logistics organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly desirable.
Technical Skills (Must Have)
- Proven experience in process analysis, design, and optimisation.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project management tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration within operational processes.
- Understanding of commodity trading and supply chain concepts.
- Experience with change management methodologies.
