Summary of Job Duties

The Assistant Research Professor supports the educational, research, and patient care missions of UAMS. This position conducts and develops research projects while helping residents learn how to design, fund, perform, analyze, and report research.

The Assistant Research Professor will contribute to collaborative research initiatives and work toward developing an independent research program that advances the UAMS mission of improving the health and health care of Arkansans.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in the applicable discipline plus three years of postdoctoral research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, conduct, and support research projects.
  • Assist with research design, funding applications, data collection, and analysis.
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications.
  • Teach and mentor residents in research methods and project development.
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, and other research professionals.
  • Work toward establishing an independent research program.
  • Support the educational, research, and patient care goals of the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
