Job Summary: Manages the day-to-day operation of the outpatient cancer center. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required Master's Degree: Preferred Five years' technical experience: Preferred One year's leadership experience: Preferred Oncology leadership experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC): Preferred Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification: Preferred Essential Functions: Exercises independent judgment in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff. Acts as educational and clinical resource for physicians, nursing staff and social workers. Manages center personnel, including hiring, training and development, and regular evaluation. Provides clinical evaluation and treatment of cancer patients, including procedures and radiation therapy services as required. Maintains quality standards for outpatient cancer care. Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, including the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC). Manages outpatient program development, coordination and marketing. Participates in the development and implementation of the center’s strategic plan. Develops and maintains policies and procedures. Oversees new testing procedures and related protocol and valuates, recommends and introduces new equipment and techniques. Ensures financial viability and stewardship through revenue enhancement and cost management systems. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
