About The Role
Job Summary: The Senior Manager of Tax Controversy and Procedure (TCP) provides technical support to firm client service professionals and clients on matters involving US federal taxation, particularly in the areas of IRS practice and procedure and tax controversy. The Senior Manager of Tax Controversy and Procedure applies knowledge and experience in procedural matters to assist clients with resolution of IRS account issues, mitigation of IRS penalty assessment and interest accrual, and other IRS procedural matters. Job Duties: Applies knowledge and expertise to assist internal and external clients with resolution of IRS account issues, mitigation of IRS penalty assessment and interest accrual , as well as other matters of tax procedure and tax controversy Assists internal and external clients with federal tax examinations and other federal tax authority disputes Participates in developing training programs in area of expertise Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises and coaches other members of the TCP team Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Education: Bachelor’s degree, required Masters of Tax or Juris Doctor, preferred Experience: Eight (8) or more years of professional experience, required License/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant, bar admission and/or Enrolled Agent, required Software: Able to use various tax applications and research tools, required Language: N/A Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates superior verbal and written communication skills Exhibits solid analytical and decision-making skills Ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on organization and detail Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $150,000 - $250,000 Maryland Range: $150,000 - $250,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $150,000 - $250,000
