About The Role
Job Summary: The State Government Finance and System Project Manager leads public-sector modernization engagements. This role serves as a trusted advisor embedded within state, county, and municipal agencies to drive enterprise software initiatives, business process optimizations, and strategic IT transformations. The Project Manager manages client relationships, directs cross-functional project teams, and ensures the successful delivery of varying client-side milestones across multiple simultaneous or sequential engagements. Job Duties: Provides project management support for client project management teams leading software selection, implementations, and system integrations Handles core systems and staff augmentation roles Develops, builds, and revises procedures and client playbooks for system rollouts Helps to protect clients from vendor scope creep and monitors project risks Oversees documentation, project timelines, and internal and vendor-facing deliverables Other duties as required to support changing client needs across different agency engagements Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises, develops, and trains Project Manager Associates and Senior Associates Reviews and evaluates work of the Associates and Senior Associates Provides verbal and written performance feedback to Associates and Senior Associates Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education: Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in project management, required Familiar with ERP systems & technology implementation best practices (eg. Infor, Workday, Netsuite, Tyler, OpenGov, etc.), preferred Experience with State and Local Government, nonprofit, and other highly regulated industries, preferred License/Certifications: CAPM or PMP, required SmartSheet certifications, preferred Software: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required SmartSheet experience, preferred SharePoint experience, preferred Language: N/A Other Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically business / report writing Strong analytical and basic research skills Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work with minimal supervision Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. Maryland Range: $120,000 - $165,000 New Jersey Range: $120,000 - $165,000
