Job Description – Executive / Assistant Manager – Costing (Manufacturing) Location: Hosur, Tamil Nadu Department: Finance – Plant Finance / Costing Experience: 1–3 Years Qualification: CMA Qualified (Mandatory) About the Role We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Costing Executive / Assistant Manager – Costing to support our manufacturing operations by driving product costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and factory cost control. The role will work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure accurate product costing, optimize manufacturing costs, and provide actionable MIS for business decision-making. Key Responsibilities Product Costing & BOM Management Review, validate, and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for all products. Ensure BOM accuracy for product costing, inventory valuation, and production planning. Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and SCM teams for BOM updates and revisions. Process Study & Standard Costing Study manufacturing process flow and establish standard activity rates and cycle times. Develop and maintain standard costs for products and manufacturing processes. Periodically review standards and recommend updates based on process improvements. Cost of Production (COP) Calculate and monitor Cost of Production (COP) across product categories. Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify cost-saving opportunities. Support cost optimization initiatives through detailed cost analysis. Variance Analysis Perform standard vs. actual cost analysis for raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overheads. Investigate cost variances and identify root causes. Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. Factory Cost Control Monitor daily manufacturing expenses and operational costs. Track budget vs. actual performance and highlight cost deviations. Support monthly plant cost reviews and financial closing activities. SAP Costing Activities Validate and release standard costs in SAP. Execute production order settlements. Perform Material Ledger (ML) activities and ensure accurate cost postings. Support month-end and year-end costing activities within SAP. MIS & Reporting Prepare weekly and monthly Cost of Production (COP) reports. Reconcile standard vs. actual raw material costs. Develop dashboards and management reports for plant leadership. Present cost analysis and recommendations to stakeholders. Required Qualifications CMA Qualified (Mandatory). Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing costing or plant finance. Experience in standard costing, product costing, and manufacturing cost analysis. Required Skills Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles. Hands-on experience in BOM management and product costing. Proficiency in SAP (CO, PP, MM modules preferred). Knowledge of Material Ledger, standard costing, and order settlement. Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Power Query preferred). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
