Pay: Starting at $80,000/year (higher compensation available based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join an innovative engineering team focused on the design and development of electrical power distribution equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and select components for power distribution equipment
- Assist with thermal design, mechanical packaging concepts, and interconnection hardware selection
- Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal management
- Develop engineering specifications for power protection systems
- Design power and control circuits for switchboards and related equipment
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Support the integration and qualification of third-party electrical components
- Participate in hardware design reviews to improve product reliability and performance
- Prepare technical documentation, manufacturing instructions, test procedures, and engineering reports
- Provide engineering support for both new and existing product lines
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems during development and production
- Assist with product safety certification efforts, including compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and other applicable standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Experience using AutoCAD or comparable CAD design software
- Knowledge of power distribution equipment such as PDUs, STSs, RPPs, switchboards, or similar electrical systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using electrical engineering test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators
- Understanding of three-phase electrical systems and power distribution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Laboratory testing and troubleshooting experience
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and engineering reports
