About The Role

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Region Head, the Account Officer solicits/markets potential borrowing accounts, reviews credit feasibility through evaluation of credit requirements and financials, prepares loan recommendation, ensures proper loan and collateral documentation, monitors accounts to mitigate past due and ensure timely recovery of the Bank's exposure. The AO ascertains that his accounts are evaluated, documented and maintained in accordance with existing Bank credit policies and procedures and are within the regulatory and prudential principles of sound banking practices at all times. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Formulates a comprehensive marketing program of loan acquisition to meet the target volume; 2. Continually grow loan account base to accelerate business volume and core revenues; 3. Promotes active usage of credit lines while developing the compensating business to enhance account profitability returns, achieves synergy benefits/advantage through build up of loans alongside cross selling of other bank products, ie. CASA, trade business, loan pricing, placements, bancassurance, non life insurance, among others; 4. Screens clients referred by the Branch and identifies potential borrowers within the Bank's target market; 5. Conducts plant/company visits to ascertain the viability of client's operation; 6. Packages/evaluates credit facilities tailor-fit to the client's financial requirement 7. Ensures veracity and accuracy of loan/collateral documentation and enforces the compliance of conditions/collateral set by the approving authorities; 8. Submits documentation requirement of Credit Management Group to facilitate the processing of Credit Risk Rating Score; 9. Discusses/coordinates with legal officers on matters pertaining to documentation of complex accounts and /or accounts with legal issues; 10. Ensures that all risks in a loan account are identified and mitigated; 11. Recommends/endorses/presents credit proposals for approval by the appropriate credit approving committee; 12. Supervises and monitors availments against credit facilities, principal and interest payments of scheduled maturities, pricing and interest rate selling for assigned accounts and prepares the necessary instructions to the department/unit concerned; 13. Undertakes periodic/annual review of existing accounts and recommends renewal/increase/reduction/cancellation of existing credit facilities as the case may be; 14. Coordinates with operating units of the bank for the efficient implementation of loan/credit transactions; 15. Coordinates with Account Officers of other banks/financial institutions on pricing and other matters pertaining to confirmation on exposure/outstandings, etc. of mutually handled accounts; 16. Trains and develops the technical capabilities of subordinates for higher responsibilities and career path progression; 17. Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
